Maybe it's the sweatervest, or possibly the oxfords, but I feel as though I should be sitting behind a desk, stamping books and shushing people for talking in the library.

That's totally what I'd tell you, because talking in the library is unacceptable, and just plain not cool, dude. Wearing oxfords and comfy scarves on the other hand? Super cool.
