"Simple" is by far one of my favorite words.
I love simple design, simple food, and of course - simple crafts!
I used to sell handmade jewelry one Etsy, and since I closed that down to focus on my new shop all of my old jewelry making bits and pieces have been sitting around feeling neglected.
Poor jewelry stuff!
I was just looking for something easy, that could go with pretty much everything I wear, and above all else, simple. I could spend an hour making a necklace, but I really just wanted to throw together something in a few minutes, and this is exactly that. Plus, all of the supplies are easily found at your local craft store! yay for simple:)
Supplies : Wood beads in varying size and colors, wire-cutters, a clasp (if you like - mine is magnetic!), some leather or suede (or whatever you prefer)
Step 1 (not pictured): "Measure" what length you'd like your neckalce (I just wrapped mine around my neck to figure it out - I decided to make it about 30Inches long) and a smaller piece for the beads to hang from (mine was 14 inches).
Step 2: If you're using a clasp, attach it to the ends of your long piece. if not, just tie your ends together (make sure your piece is long enough to get over your head though!)
Step 3&4: Take your smaller piece and loop it over your necklace and bring the ends together.
Step 5: Make a small knot about a fingers width in from the necklace on your smaller piece.
Step 6: Add your beads in whatever order you wish!
Step 7: Add another knot at the bottom to keep them in place... You're done!
I just love how simple it is.
You can throw it on with a tee for a casual look, or layer it with a bunch of other necklaces to do something a little more fun:)

What a super cute DIY! I'll def have to try this :)

I love wood beads. I've made a similar USB chain with 3 different color beads (red, green and natural) and totally love it. Maybe I'll make one as a necklace, thanks to your idea ^^
