After I gave my hat a makeover the other day I was left with the chain that used to (barely) hang onto it. Whenever I'm left with things like this after projects I find it hard to just throw them out and knew I had to find this chain a new home. Then I remembered I had been hoarding onto this tank top for the better part of a year now, so I combined the two and made a "statement" necklace!
Here's the shirt I used. It's actually from J.Crew but unfortunately it had been accidentally shrunken, and somehow the straps had been stretched out and was pretty much completely unwearable.
I started by carefully cutting the "be-jeweled" part of tank off. I then used pliers to split the chain in half and also opened a link. I poked a small hole in the jewel-backing on each end, and slid an open link into each one. I attached the rest of the chain(s) to each side and closed the links. Then, using scraps fron the tank, I attached a strip to each end and tied off to use as the "connector"!
Pretty fancy, right?
It's definetely a good way to save an ill fitting t-shirt with unique details and remake it into something you love again:)

So beautiful! I love these kinds of projects!
