Those of you who read my blog on a regular basis know that a few months ago I got two lovely hens. Within a week or two they became attatch to me like you rarely see chickens do with people. They would follow me everywhere when I was outside, eat right out of my hand and full-on run at me everyday when they saw I had their afternoon dish of milk.
Me and my husband were out until late last night and when we got home I immedietly went out to close their coop up like I always do, but when I poked my head in to check on them, they were gone. As soon as it gets dark outside they always cuddle up together in their coop and don't move again until morning, so I knew something was very wrong. Me and my amazing husband and our puppy wandered around the yard looking for them anyway, but they were nowhere to be found. We deduced that they were definitely stolen. There was pulled out feathers both inside the coop and at varying spots down a human path across the farmers field, but no blood (if an animal had attacked there's no way that it couldn't leave blood).
It may seem really silly or over-dramatic to people that I cried my little heart out, and maybe it is. But they were very much pets, and I think anyone who knows my family personally knows that every pet is a memeber of the family and I think me and my mom have cried over just about every one of them (which is a whole lot...).
Sorry for a sad post everyone. I always like to keep my blog very happy, but theses lovely ladies have been a big part of my blog and even my life over the last few months and I will miss them dearly!

So sorry to hear about your loss. It's sad that such things happen. I really looked forward to glimpses of your hens in your photos. I will miss them too.

Aw, that's terrible! I don't understand why someone would do that.

I am soooo sorry to hear about your chickens! I had a pet chicken stolen from me once... an ex-boyfriend actually took her... and I cried forever! Everybody knows you don't just mess with a girl's chicken! I hope you will get more chickens in the future... a chicken could use a woman like you :)

I am so sorry about your chickens - I can only imagine how sad you must be feeling. My boyfriend and I recently bought chicks and I adore them; I would be devastated if something were to happen to them. I hope you will be able to get more chickens in the future.
